Bolton Gun Club - Clay Section

About Us

Whether you are a seasoned clay buster or just looking to start an exciting new hobby, our clay ground has everything you are looking for.

Located on Turf Nest Farm our regular shoot days provide DTL, English Skeet and a 50 bird English Sporting shoot. Add to this the occasional 2 or 4-man flush and Compak layouts and you can be sure that our clay shoots boast a varied shooting program.

Our shoot calendar provides regular member's competitions with fortnightly scores counting towards overall winners in each discipline. With an overall champion at the end of each year, members can be assured of friendly competition throughout the shooting year. Guests are most welcome to shoot the competitions alongside us but as the saying goes “…you gotta be in it to win it…".

For the novice shooters our instructors will offer all the tuition needed to get you started. With no charge for tuition or the use of our equipment all you pay for is the ammunition and the clay pigeon targets. This principle is at the heart of the Bolton Gun Club philosophy – the promotion of shooting sports for future generations sharing knowledge and experience with others.

The clay ground has on site parking, toilet facilities and offers hot food and drinks served from our catering van.  We have a kitchen planned for the very near future so by the time you visit Turf Nest Farm the "van" may have been retired.
